My Story
When my children were very young, I became a single mom. With an MBA degree and many thanks to some wonderful companies and leaders who took me under their wings, I was able to continue to pursue my career and professional advancement. As many of you know the balance of family and work is not an easy task. I struggled with mom quilt and balance, while putting a smile on my face as I walked through the office door. My precious boys were always my priority. I worked to attend almost every event at school, but the long hours and divided focus I know made me seem, at times, a million miles away.

Like many working moms, I have enjoyed my career and value the interaction with people and daily problem solving. However the desire to be "all things to all people" often deprived me of energy and sleep. Preventive health visits were frequently missed.
After a brain tumor took the life of a wonderful mother at my son's school, I stepped back to reflect on the sacrifices so many moms make, one often being personal health. While some health issues are unavoidable, others may be in our control. During that time, I developed a campaign for the hospital company where I worked called the "Supermoms" campaign. The campaign was designed to bring awareness to moms that to be their best for those they love, they must put their "masks on first". Wellbeing, encompassing both mental and physical, is a critical anchor that cannot be compromised in the rapid pace of life.
While working moms often limit themselves to "either/or" solutions, the good news is they can have it all with the right mindset. Life will always be full of rainbows and storms, good days and bad days, job successes and job changes, family great times and family disruption... You hold the key to success. Empower yourself to love your family, hug your kids, smile a lot, take those promotions at work, help others and give life every chance to be all that you envision.

How does my story end? The fulltime working mother who graduated from an MBA program with her two-year-old son in her arms, now holds a beautiful grandson. The mother who supported me as my children's caregiver while I worked, now gently holds my arm to steady her walk. I look across my desk and see a CFO award, wondering how that ever landed in my hand. Today, I am thankful to God for the journey and that I can realize one of my dreams. That dream is to offer HealthCare Pink® to you. May it be a tool to support peace on your journey, enhance your wellbeing, bring balance and love to your family, and help your dreams come true. - Stacey
